Get Ready for the the 5th Annual Nassau Film Festival!

THE NASSAU FILM FESTIVAL RETURNS for 2 days - May 18 & 19, 2019

A 2-Day Celebration of Short Films From Around the Globe

The Nassau Film Festival was recently named the number one comprehensive short film festival in the New Jersey/New York/Pennsylvania tri-state region and one of the best comprehensive short film festivals in the United States. Recently, the festival was rated by filmmakers as one of the top 100 film festivals worldwide.

The Nassau Film Festival (NFF) screens short films and music videos (30 seconds to 20 Minutes) in the following categories: fiction, documentary, animation, student fiction, music videos, trailers and episodic. The historic Princeton Garden Theatre on Nassau Street in Princeton, NJ across the street from Princeton University will host the 2019 festival which will be held on Saturday May 18 and Sunday May 19, 2019. Last year the festival screened 82 films from 31 countries. Best of Festival awards are given in each of the categories and attendees have a chance to network with filmmakers, actors, actresses, directors and directors of photography at a special festival event. Audience members will also have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with filmmakers whose films are selected to screen at the festival. The events are free to attend and open to the public!

Lew Goldstein got the idea to start the festival after noticing a gap in the Princeton film scene. “I felt there was a void for individuals who focused on short documentaries and short films. These are all remarkable films that deserve to be seen,” he says.

Each year the number of film submissions for Festival consideration has grown. At the last festival there were over 600 submissions from around the world. “As the festival has grown more filmmakers are realizing that this is a festival which is drawing serious attention in the film community. We are seeing a growth each year in submissions and the festival going audience has packed the Princeton Garden Theatre knowing that the films chosen to be screened by the judges are of high quality,” Goldstein said.

The NFF highlights extraordinary independent films from filmmakers representing countries in six continents. Additionally, films from the USA and regional and local filmmakers are highlighted.
